To reduce the risk of nutritional deficiencies, consider taking a complete multivitamin. However, it’s important to remember that a multivitamin should never replace a balanced diet. Vitamins and minerals are absorbed more effectively through food than supplements. A well-rounded multivitamin should contain a broad spectrum of essential nutrients. Some individuals may need to avoid certain nutrients due to specific health conditions, so in these cases, taking individual nutrients may be a better option.

There are many products on the market targeting individuals looking to improve their health. However, not all supplements are supported by scientific evidence, meaning they haven’t been tested in trials to demonstrate their effectiveness. Therefore, it’s best to avoid supplements with very high strengths, as these can cause unwanted side effects. Additionally, avoid exceeding recommended doses. If you’re taking a complete multivitamin, don’t take individual micronutrients on top, as this could lead to excessive intake.

If you're considering supplements in addition to those recommended above, this is an entirely personal choice. It’s best to consult with a healthcare professional to determine if they’re necessary for your specific needs.
