It can be tempting to move up the dose levels as quickly as possible, but this isn’t always needed to achieve noticeable and sustained weight loss. You should listen to your body and how you feel before deciding to change dose levels. If you’re not sure, read our Selecting the right strength and switching treatment types article for more information.
Can I jump up more than one level at a time?
When you go through your re-order consultation, you’ll have the option to either stay on the same dose, go up one level, or drop one level. It is up to you to select the dose each time you re-order. Our clinical team won’t choose for you, but they will review your re-order consultation to make sure it’s suitable for you and your progress.
What does a typical 12 month journey look like?
No two weight loss journeys are the same, but we’ve illustrated a typical Mounjaro journey so you can understand when you might move up or down a dose level.
Month 1 – 2.5mg
Month 2 & 3 – 5mg
Month 4 & 5 – 7.5mg
Month 6, 7 & 8 – 10mg
Month 9 & 10 – 12.5mg
Month 11 & 12 – 15mg
Will you offer me a call with a weight loss expert?
We don’t currently offer a coaching service, however, if our clinical team have any queries when reviewing your re-order consultation, they’ll contact you directly to discuss your treatment and options.
Why does the cost increase with each dose increase?
Higher doses contain more of the active ingredient and are stronger, therefore the cost is increased.
When do I end my treatment?
Weight loss medications like Mounjaro and Wegovy can be prescribed for up to 2 years and are designed as long-term treatments. After an initial 12 months, it is an option to then reduce the dose each month as you taper off the medication. How long you taper down will depend on the maximum dose you reached and how successful you feel your treatment is.
Combined with the diet & lifestyle changes you’ve been making, this will increase your chances of sustained weight loss – even after you stop using the injections.
