There are still a few key things you need to do once you’ve administered a successful injection. It’s important to practice safe injection aftercare.

What to do with a used needle

Unscrew the capped needle and place it into your supplied sharps container. You should never re-use a needle and we’ll always provide a supply of needles with your first order. If you run out, let us know.

How to store your pen between injections

Firstly, replace the pen cap for a secure and hygienic fit. You should never store the pen with a needle attached. Always store with the pen cap securely on.

You can then store your Mounjaro pen at room temperature up to 30°C for no more than 30 days, or your Wegovy pen at room temperature up to 30°C for no more than 6 weeks. Both types of pen should be stored out of direct sunlight, heat and from the sight & reach of children.

What to do with a used Mounjaro KwikPen

If you’ve injected your 4th dose from the pen, the pen (not the needle) can be disposed of in your regular household bin, or taken to a local pharmacy for disposal.

What to do with a used Wegovy FlexTouch Pen

The manufacturers of your Wegovy FlexTouch Pen have a recycling scheme so the components of the pen can be recycled instead of going to landfill or incineration. You can find out more about their PenCycle scheme here.
